Commissioners declare state of county strong 

Some 350 Chester County business leaders heard good news Monday in stark contrast to the drumbeat of negative national economic conditions that dominate today's headlines. The occasion was the annual State of the County luncheon, put on each year since 1996 by the Chamber of Business & Industry. Rob Powelson, Chester County Chamber president, praised the county for its AAA bond rating from Moody's Investors Service. Chester and Montgomery Counties are the only Pennsylvania counties that enjoy AAA ratings. All three Chester County commissioners spoke after lunch, divvying up the county government pie among them.
